2018 Bright Awards

In 2014, Assistant Editor for The Cincinnati Herald, Courtney Myrick decided the company needed an event to honor all the young talent within Greater Cincinnati. She organized The Cincinnati Herald's 1st Bright Awards. This year will be the 5th year. In 2017, The Cincinnati Herald partnered to present the Bright Awards. Bright is an acronym for "Bold, Respectful, Intelligent, Gifted Hardworking Treasures."

This year we will recognize the achievements these impressionable Millennial and Generation X young professionals since the beginning of 2017 in three categories: Community Service, Entrepreneurship, and Corporate/Professional.

Nominations are still open until Friday, March 2nd, 2018, at 5 pm. It doesn’t matter when their companies were started, but the nominations must focus on their achievements since the beginning of 2017. The document is below as well as a description of the three categories.

Community Service: This award is presented to an individual making significant contributions to their community through their time, actions, talents and dedication. They are involved in this service due to the fact this person recognizes and understands the need.

Entrepreneurship: This award celebrates the entrepreneurial spirit by recognizing an individual who has developed the shape for a comprehensive business plan and through their innovative concept, has achieved objectives that create jobs and further improve lives.

Corporate/Professional: This award is presented to an individual in an organization who has shown forward-thinking initiative that has been instrumental in the advancement of that respected company. The recipients of this award demonstrate respect towards colleagues by promoting inclusivity which in turn has built community within the organization.
